Manny Ramirez Brings the Term “Idiot” to a Whole New Low

Published by sportsnfitness at 3:33 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

What is up with this guy? Better yet, what is psychologically wrong with this man? For those of you who haven’t been following Red Sox baseball, left-fielder Manny Ramirez has been up to all sorts of antics since June. Manny has always been known for just, “being Manny” but he has taken his imbecile act too far. In June there was an incident during a game where the Red Sox were playing in
Boston, MA against the Tampa Bay Rays Manny and fellow teammate Kevin Youkilis were involved in a physical altercation ending with the two being forcibly separated by teammates and coaches. Another physical altercation occurred between Manny and the traveling secretary for the Red Sox, Jack McCormick. Manny reportedly requested more than two dozen tickets to an away game against the Houston Astros. Manny didn’t seem to like McCormick’s response to his request as he reportedly got physical with McCormick causing him to end up on the ground. Similar to the aforementioned incident Manny also made another outrageous request for tickets and got physical yet again when not receiving the answer he wanted. Manny was fined for the assault on the employee. In July, Manny took his ludicrous behavior onto the field during games where he would not chase after ground balls or give little effort. The icing on the cake had to have been on July 30th when before taking the field for a home game Ramirez was quoted saying, “the Red Sox don’t deserve me.”  No wonder he was sent packing to the L.A. Dodgers within hours of that statement.

It’s obvious that Manny Ramirez does not have the finesse that a professional athlete should when conducting themselves. In addition, he has not the slightest idea about being a business-man. Ramirez’s agent is truly a slick trickster considering Manny’s salary in
L.A. will be $3 million cheaper. The only thing Manny does have is a talent for hitting that ball far, far away. The question then arises whether or not that talent is valuable enough to put up with all the other antics and unprofessional behavior; Joe Torre (General Manager of L.A. Dodgers) seems to think so.
